Cream of the crop – Nature!
Big news this week… I finally got published in Nature magazine. For those of you who aren’t as big of geeks as I am, it’s kind of a big deal.
However, if you are a science dork and are interested in the research I used to do, check it out:

Sorry, apparently the whole article is not available yet, but check back next week if you enjoyed the abstract!
Off to my dance class!

“The inflammasome recognizes c.y.t.o..s..o..l..i…c . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .”
…just kidding!! Congrats! From one science geek to another, getting published in Nature is a HUGE deal. Way to go!
How about a translation for us non-geeks? Can you dumb it down a little?
Does your article relate to cyberinfrastructure in any way?
Any way at all?
For the non-geeks:
We were trying to figure out what part of the virus was causing inflammation once it entered. Possible candidates were the capsule (outer shell), the proteins or the DNA…and the culprit- turns out it was the DNA.
Sorry Jana, no cyberinfrastructure involved..only cell infrastructure.
Quite a week for you Missyhead. Enough to make an already proud father even more proud.
Love
Dad
You are my past-life biology idol!!! I never got one real publication and you’re now in Nature. Congrats – amazing and exciting.
